Sell a collection

Are you looking to reclaim space, or slim down your collection?

Do you find the idea of selling on eBay or Discogs time consuming and a bit impersonal?

Dream Street Records is a queer-centred, joy-fuelled celebration of pop music, personal archives and collective memories. We honour the past, live for the bangers, and believe that music is a tool for healing, resistance and radical joy.

We are always interested in buying collections large or small that are in great resale condition. We stock all genres of pop from the 1950s to the present day – our aim is to put collectables and classics in the hands of new generations of music fans.

Crates of colourful vinyl records, a rack of CDs and a copy of The Face magazine with Grace Jones on the cover.

What we buy

  • Vinyl LPs, 12" and 7" singles, CDs and cassettes
  • Music magazines
  • Band t-shirts, tour programmes, posters and other memorabilia
  • LGBTQ-interest non-fiction books
  • Queer nightlife ephemera

What we pay

We always aim to pay fair prices for collections. We recommend that you consult the sold prices on Discogs and eBay to get a sense of how much individual items might fetch.

Discogs is the global marketplace, and the authority on the current value of specific pressings. Do also familiarise yourself with the Goldmine Gradings, the universally accepted method of grading records, which can significantly affect an item's value

We recognise that more than just money goes into building music collections. Where we can, we aim to honour the passion and memories that they hold through our blog and in-store events programme when you sell or donate a collection to us.
