Sell a collection

Are you looking to reclaim space, or slim down your collection?

Do you find the idea of selling on eBay or Discogs time consuming and a bit impersonal?

Dream Street Records aims to put collectables and classics in the hands of new generations of music fans.

We celebrate all genres of pop music from the 1950s to the present day, with a particular focus on queer artists and artists queers love. That's a long, broad list.

What we buy

We are always interested in buying collections that are in very good or excellent condition. We buy:

  • LPs, 12" & 7" singles, CDs, cassettes
  • Music magazines
  • Band t-shirts, tour programmes, posters and other memorabilia
  • LGBTQ-interest non-fiction books
  • Queer nightlife ephemera

What we pay

We typically buy collections at 40% – 50% of their current retail value. We recommend that you consult the sold prices on Discogs and eBay to get a sense of how much individual items are worth. Discogs is the global marketplace, and the authority on the current value of specific pressings. Please also familiarise yourself with the Goldmine Gradings, the universally accepted method of grading records, which can drastically affect an item's value.

We recognise that more than just money goes into building music collections. Where we can, we aim to honour the passion and memories that they hold through our blog and in-store events programme.
