“Leading the next generation of socially conscious songwriters”
Jim Moray
Maddie Morris is an extraordinary artist who blends folk, protest song and personal storytelling to explore queerness, disability, survival, and joy in community – all with warmth, honesty and humour.
Maddie won the BBC Young Folk Award in 2018 and has been leading the way when it comes to sharing their experiences as a touring trans musician. I first came across Maddie through my friend (folk musician Jon Wilks), and have been looking forward to welcoming them to the shop ever since!
Maddie's shows are more than a gig – they're a welcoming, inclusive space for connection, creativity, and community for all, and especially for those who don’t feel at home in traditional live music settings.
We hope you will join us for an intimate and life-affirming performance.
