Designing a dream

Designing a dream

Anna Potter is a multidisciplinary designer whose experience spans print, fashion, architecture and commercial interiors.

Anna was the first creative to work with Rasheed on his vision for a joyous record shop and community hub. Central to the brief was to design a welcoming environment that considered physical accessibility from the outset.

Anna quickly designed an intuitive shop layout that could accommodate wheelchairs and buggies. Alongside furniture maker James Burial, Anna also designed the beautiful bespoke vinyl bins and counter, and advised Rasheed on wall displays.

"Anna's interior really is the soul of the shop, and the reason why it works," Rasheed said. "A store like this could easily feel overwhelming and confused, but Anna's design has brought a much-needed sense of balance, calm and cohesion – everyone who visits feels it. Working with Anna was so easy and fuss-free: her understanding of storytelling, materials and human behaviour has ensured that Dream Street Records has become not just a retail space, but an inviting and inclusive place of connection."
